Company History

American Settlement Corporation draws on a remarkable resource—our dedicated staff—to provide effective and comprehensive service to our clients. We help them capitalize on their settlements and get on with their lives. Our team can claim collective professional experience of more than two centuries in a field not yet 30 years old. Not only that, but we have nearly as much experience managing claims and representing clients in important—sometimes precedent-setting—litigation.

Creating a New Industry

John Stanford and Richard Creel began their respective careers in structured settlements in 1984. In 1987, they formed their first corporation—Comprehensive Settlements, Inc.

After experiencing rapid growth, in 1991, they merged their existing business with another company to form American Settlement Corporation. This merger allowed John and Richard to offer a broad range of services to the public as well as the insurance industry on a nationwide basis.

Joe Pigott, Jason Creel, and Patricia Duvall have been at the head of the company since 2018. Since then, they have been working and improving upon the vision set out by John and Richard when they first formed the company.
